Compensation
A competitive salary based on qualification and experience.
Qualifications
– Earned degree in Music. While an earned Masters’s Degree from a Southern Baptist Seminary is preferred, we will certainly consider candidates with music degrees from other universities.
– A minimum of two years of experience leading a full-range music ministry is preferred.
– Demonstrated ability to play at least one musical instrument, and having a solo quality voice.
– A Christian faith commitment to conservative evangelical theology, and in agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
– Demonstrated authentic personal walk with Jesus Christ and a servant’s heart.
Responsibilities
– Lead a full range music ministry for a 400 member church with an ethnically diverse congregation.
- Organize the weekly worship service, in cooperation with the Senior Pastor.
- Seek and select songs that will edify the congregation and supplement the text of the sermon.
- Lead the praise band, singers, media team, and congregation through the weekly worship service.
- Lead the praise band practices.
- Plan and implement holiday services.
- Provide weekly direction to the media team and praise band, by preparing a written order of service that includes lyrics, music charts, media inserts, etc, for upcoming worship service(s), and, at least once a week, as a minimum, email those to all parties concerned (timely enough so that all parties concerned have time to practice their parts before going to joint rehearsal), i.e.:
- Participate in community and association ministries as time permits.
- Seek continually to grow spiritually and discover new and effective ministry opportunities.
- Recruit new members for the praise band, and media team.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the senior pastor.
- Possess a working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office products (or equivalent), and the use of e-mail and social media to promote and maintain the events of the music ministry. Our church has traditionally used Planning Center to assist with the development of worship services.
