David Crowe came on staff in April of 2014. Dave graduated from the University of North Florida in 1999 where, as a student, he helped to begin the UNF chapter of Campus Crusade for Christ. Dave began serving the local church in 2000 when he joined the First Baptist Church of Shepherdsville, KY as their Youth Pastor. After completing his Masters of Divinity at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2003, Dave and his family moved to Elko, Nevada, where he served Calvary Baptist Church as the Associate Pastor of Students and Missions. It was in Elko that Dave felt called to serve in the role of pastor. Dave and his family moved back to Kentucky in 2005 where he served for 8 years at Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church in Harrodsburg, KY as their senior pastor.  In 2012, David earned a Doctorate of Ministry degree in Expository Preaching from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  While in Kentucky, Dave served as the moderator for the Mercer Association for Kentucky Baptists and on the Kentucky Baptist Convention Mission Board’s Finance Committee. In his concern for church health, Dave served many churches as a member of the Maple Trail Ministry Consultants. Dave has served and led more than a dozen international mission trips (Ukraine, Poland, Malta, Mexico, Philippines, as well as countries in East Asia and the Middle East).

In 2010, Dave was diagnosed with a rare and life threatening Sarcoma Cancer. His initial diagnosis was that he would live for less than two years. By God’s grace, Dave was able to go through three surgeries and was given a clean bill of health.

Dave is married to Ginny Crowe, and together they have four boys, Elijah, Jonah, Gabriel, and Malachi. Ginny graduated from Boyce Bible College in 2003, and she has a passion for leading the four boys in their homeschool education.

What is one of the things you love about serving at SOBC?

I love our church’s passion for the Word of God and to make His Gospel known.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love NFL football and College Football. I love reading and listening to all kinds of music.  In my free time I can be found working on computers, playing a guitar or a piano, and catching a movie with my family.

What are your favorite foods?

I love all BBQ, Sushi, Chinese Food, German Food, Steaks of almost any cut, and Chocolate Chip Cookies.

On Saturdays, I am most likely to be…

Watching SEC Football (If it is football season), swimming, grilling something, spending time with the family, and exploring Central Florida.

My ideal vacation would be…

Anywhere in Europe or the Middle East touring anything historical.

A family tradition that is especially dear to me is…

We are passionate about our Family Devotional time every night. I love it when we all sit together and study a passage in the Bible and talk about it together.
