Bible Verses to Mark for Evangelism

God – God Loves You

1) John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

Man – All of us are Sinners

2) Romans 3:10 – As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;

3) Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

(Romans 5:12)

4) Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Christ – Christ Died for our Sins

5) Romans 5:8-9 – But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him! (Colossians 2:13-14; 1 John 1:7)

Response – We must individually receive Christ

6) John 1:12 – Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.

7) Romans 10:9-10 – That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

8) Romans 10:13 – for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Invite the person to pray to be saved: “Would you like to repent of your sins and trust on Jesus to be your savior and Lord or would you like more time to think about and study these things?” 

Other helpful verses:

Jesus is the only Way to Heaven

9) John 14:6 – Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

10) Acts 4:12 – Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”

Good works cannot save you

11) Ephesians 2:8-9 – For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

12) Titus 3:5 – he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

Unbelief will cost you

13) John 3:36 – Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”

14) Revelation 21:8 – But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.”

Belief in God is not enough

15) James 2:19 – You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

I do not believe the Bible

16) 1 Peter 1:20-21 – Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. 21 For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

How to know Christ is in your life and that he will never leave you

1) Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.”

2) 1 John 5:11-13 – And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

3) John 10:27-30 – My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.” (You can also use Romans 8:38-39)

What do I do now that I have Jesus?

Live in Him –

4) Colossians 2:6 – So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him,

Read the Bible –

5) 1 Peter 2:2 – Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,

Pray –

6) John 15:7 – If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.

Go to Church –

7) Hebrews 10:25 – Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Share him with others – 

8) Matthew 28:19-20 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

What just happened to me?

1) Christ came into your life – Colossians 1:27 – To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

2) Your sins were forgiven – Colossians 1:14 – In whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

3) You became a child of God – John 1:12 – Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God

4) You received eternal life – John 5:24 – “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. 

5) You began the great adventure for which God created you

– John 10:10 – The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

– 2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
