What is the Disciple’s Trail? 

The Disciple’s Trail is a discipleship curriculum written especially for South Orlando Baptist Church. It is a series of 32 lessons meant to assist in personal spiritual growth. It is designed to be used in one-on-one settings throughout the course of one year or less. Its goal is to lead believers from basic Christianity into mature Christian leadership and ministry within the local church. 

This curriculum provides information and guidance for new Christians as they mature into leadership within our church. This series of lessons provides a helpful pathway for any Christian who is eager to learn and grow. 

Who exactly is it for?

The Disciple’s Trail is for everyone! It is for any Christian who wants to grow in their faith. It can be used by Sunday school teachers with a new class member; a deacon with a new believer; parents with their own children; married couples who want to deepen in their faith; or anyone who wants to grow in Christ. 

Is it for mature Christians or New Christians?

It is for both mature Christians and new Christians. While its scope should be beneficial for all mature Christians, mature Christians are needed to assist newer Christians through the curriculum. 

What is this Wednesday Class all about?

The Wednesday night class will be going through the Disciple’s Trail lessons in a group format. We will meet in the Music Suite from 7-8pm every week. In the event that we outgrow the music suite, meetings will move into the sanctuary. 

Videos will also be posted on the SOBC YouTube channel where folks can keep up with any lessons that they miss. When possible, a zoom link will be provided for anyone sitting at home to be able to join in. 

Could my Sunday school class go through the curriculum? 

Yes! While it is designed for a one-on-one environment, Sunday school classes could easily adapt the lessons and use the curriculum for an entire year. Because our Sunday school classes are autonomous and decide their own studies to suit their needs, classes will not be required to walk through the Disciple’s Trail. The complete 32-lesson curriculum will be ready in its entirety by the middle of September. 

How much does it cost?

The Disciple’s trail curriculum is completely free. It will be available for download in its entirety from the church website in September. 

What will happen if I complete the Disciple’s Trail?

We will celebrate any and all church members who complete the Disciples Trail.  The earliest celebration will happen in March of 2023 when the first group who finishes will receive a special award.
