Preparing for Sacrifice Sunday
Sunday, May 29, will be Sacrifice Sunday in a variety of ways. We will be honoring the sacrifice and service of our military veterans as we observe Memorial Day. We will be honoring the sacrifice of Jesus as we observe a baptism and study 1 John 4. And we will be seeking to sacrificially give towards the debt of our church.
We have been in prayer for God to bless us to pay off more than $100,000 this year towards our debt of $500,000. With $30,000 left over from our Church’s loan refinance and $20,000 of principal being paid on the loan through the end of this year, we have $50,000 more to raise this year. The May 29 goal is that we will have up to $25,000 in extra funds raised toward our year’s goal of $100,000.
The following are five ways you can help contribute on sacrifice Sunday:
- If you write a check – write “Sacrifice Sunday” in the for line.
- Fill out a “Sacrifice Sunday” commitment pledge form – which will be in this Sunday’s bulletin. After filling the form out, place the form in the offering. The challenge levels include the “Coffee Challenge” of $5 weekly or $20 a month, the “Steakhouse Challenge” of $25 weekly or $100 a month, the “Theme Park” Challenge of $100 weekly or $400 a month, or any amount of your choosing.
- Using the church app, set up weekly or monthly contributions towards the “Building fund.”
- Place any cash donations in the envelopes provided in the pew and write “Sacrifice Sunday” on the envelope.
- You can give using a credit card through the church app or the church website. Click here for Paypal. Click here for Subsplash.
Please pray about what God would have you to sacrifice in contributing towards the needs of our church.
